There are rolling hills in the first 4 miles and the last 4 miles. Course may change within Conestee Park to accommodate finish line. All sections on GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail will remain the same.
This is an out an back course and there will be 6 aid stations – 3 aid stations going out and the same 3 on the return.
ALL RUNNERS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO CARRY AT LEAST ONE WATER BOTTLE, PREFERABLY TWO, OR A HYDRATION PACK.
Awards: Awards for top three female runners and the top three male runners. Everyone that finishes before the 4:00 hour cut-off will receive a finishers award. Course will remain open until 3:30pm.
Swamp Rabbit Urban Ultra Race Philosophy: Not everyone can run a marathon – and even fewer people can run an ultra marathon.
Swamp Rabbit Urban Ultra is the ideal first ultra race. Most ultra runs are on technical trails, involve running at night, perhaps getting lost, maybe falling down a few times and usually require that you travel a fair distance to participate.
The Swamp Rabbit Urban Ultra removes all of those issues, but will still test you past anything you have ever done in a regular marathon.
This race, the race distance, 50 Km / 31 miles, and the timed cutoffs are intended for experienced / seasoned marathon runners.
We will do our best to get you to the finish line – but ultimately, like any race, regardless of the distance, you are responsible for your own well-being.
Run hard, but run smart.
