Description: Greenville Family Partnership’s (GFP) mission is to keep kids drug and alcohol free through information dissemination, awareness, youth-specific efforts, community education, task forces, and other partnerships in order to help kids live a healthier and happier lifestyle. The Red Ribbon Run and Fun…a tribute to Sean Reeves is GFP’s inaugural 5K to help reduce the number of individuals affected by drugs and alcohol, advocate for healthy living, and promote family togetherness. The race will include a “Memorial Cool-Down Zone” at the end of the run, which will incorporate signs donated by runners in honor of family and friends who struggle with or have lost their battle with addiction.
The theme of the run is “Color Your Life.” A different color will be thrown on runners at each kilometer to represent different forms of awareness and prevention. After the race, runners and their family members, as well as all other community members, are invited for food, fun, and live music at Trailblazer Park for an afternoon of family fun! We hope to see you there for a happy and healthy day of fun!

Honor your loved ones by purchasing a memorial sign for the “Memorial Cool-Down Zone.” Signs can be purchased in honor/memory of loved ones affected by alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs. Because GFP’s efforts are largely focused on prevention of drug and alcohol use, signs may also be purchased in honor of loved ones who vow to live a drug free lifestyle. All signs will be printed by GFP and will be placed at the end of the race to give participants the opportunity to take their time as they to walk through and observe the memorial zone.
Venue: Trailblazer Park
Located in Travelers Rest, SC near the Blue Ridge Mountains and Furman University, Trailblazer Park is the regions newest performing arts and cultural center featuring panoramic mountain views, a covered pavilion that hosts the Travelers Rest Farmers Market, festival grounds, and an open-air amphitheater. Cyclists and pedestrians can access Trailblazer Park via a spur trail connection to the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail, a multi-use greenway system that runs along the Reedy River connecting the old railway system between Greenville and Travelers Rest.
